FAQ
Questions riders ask before buying RX insert cycling glasses.
Are these prescription cycling glasses?
Claryde is a prescription-ready cycling eyewear concept. The launch path uses a removable RX insert, but prescription lens fulfillment is not live yet.
Is RX insert the same as prescription cycling glasses?
No. Prescription cycling glasses is the broader category. RX insert is one way to make cycling glasses prescription-ready. Claryde is starting with the RX insert path because it separates the sport shield from the prescription carrier.
What are RX insert cycling glasses?
They are cycling glasses with an outer shield lens and a removable optical insert behind it. The insert is designed to hold prescription lenses.
Do the glasses come with prescription lenses?
Not yet. Claryde is in sample validation and waitlist stage. RX lens service options are still being reviewed.
Can I use my local optical shop?
That is one path under review. The removable insert may allow local lens fitting if the final supplier model and lens shape are validated.
Why not make the outer lens prescription?
Direct prescription sport lenses can work well, but they can be more expensive and more complex for shield-style cycling eyewear. Claryde is validating an insert-first path first.
Will Claryde support progressive lenses?
Not at launch. Progressive, bifocal, and prism prescriptions are not supported at launch.
Is this a purchase commitment?
No. Joining the launch list does not require payment and is not a purchase commitment.
What are you validating before launch?
Fit, insert stability, lens options, fogging behavior, RX range, supplier documentation, packaging, shipping timelines, and remake or return policy.
